Favorite Beach

For the past 6 days I have been working on very large canvases for my church for Good Friday services and Easter services. I'm talking about 8'x4', 5'x6'...2 of each of those sizes. So much has been happening in our family this week as well; some great things, some disappointing, some scary. And I keep coming back to God's Word which grounds me even if my schedule is too-packed, my dreams are way convoluted and disturbing, regular responsibilities are falling through the cracks, and impossible roadblocks are looming and surrounding my thoughts. So I keep coming back to the Word, and God is faithful. "From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him." Proverbs 12:14 That verse tells me there is a reason I am painting. On another note, my CHALLENGE 60 project is slowly moving along, 3 of the 16 paintings have sold, so I will be able to give something to my friends to help them with their financial burdens, but I thought it would be more "successful." Trusting God with this one? Oh yeah, that's what I'm supposed to do. This little painting is acrylic on heavy watercolor paper, sized 4.5"x6.25", $60, Day 17 of CHALLENGE 60. As I've said before, it's my M.O. to see all that is falling short in my life, to list the things not done that should have been done today...but praise be to God who says: "Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..." Keep coming back.

  1. Thank you for your encouragement to keep coming back. Don't we all need tohear it! Sometimes we need to preach the gospel to ourselves, sometimes it's just a few words, which may not sound like alot, but it's what our hearts need to hear.
Thanks also for the reminder to keep the clock wound, and to pursue that which satisfies the soul, what were made to do; the best way wecan worship God.
    love you!

Take Time to Play

Oil on Canvas, 30" x 24" Blues and Greens go so well together, don't they? This painting depicts a playful attitude - at least...
