Surf Spray, Beach and Ocean Paintings by Arizona Artist Amy Whitehouse

16" x 20" x 1.5" Oil, $300

Though I reside in Arizona, it's pretty clear that
my heart resides at the coast.
Either one, it doesn't matter.

I travel to my home state of Florida as often as possible
to get my fix, and to visit family and friends.
I travel to California whenever the opportunity arises.
I would go to Hawaii once a year if I could.

When I do make it to an ocean, I really enjoy the experience:
I immerse myself in the sound of the waves,
the mesmerizing sight of the tides,
the feel of the sand and salt water on my skin.

I never tire of painting ocean scenes,
probably because it helps me "go" there
at least for a little while.

This painting was completed over several months,
and thus has several layers of oil paint.
There is the most texture at the focal point,
the breaking wave.
Lots of foam and spray make me happy.

If interested in purchasing this piece,
LMK.
The sides are painted in wrap-around style,
so it's ready to hang,
no frame needed.

Take Time to Play

Oil on Canvas, 30" x 24" Blues and Greens go so well together, don't they? This painting depicts a playful attitude - at least...
