I've been a little distracted - happily -
by my first grandchild's birth,
so haven't been painting or posting
since Saturday.

BTW what are YOU reading these days?
I am deep into two interesting books:
Bonhoeffer:  Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy
by Eric Metaxas
and
The Happiness Project
by Gretchen Rubin

Dietrich Bonhoeffer -
an extremely intelligent young man of integrity -
was part of the plot to kill Hitler
which led to his own death.
This account moves me to examine
the motives and purposes of my life,
as well as the depth of my beliefs.
I had the great privilege of hearing the author speak a few months ago
and understand he has an interesting web site.

Rubin's book is obviously lighter,
but focuses on goals, efficiency of work,
kindness and generosity to others,
and many other topics.

We'll see what real and lasting effects these 2 authors
have in my life.  I certainly hope something significant.

Take Time to Play

Oil on Canvas, 30" x 24" Blues and Greens go so well together, don't they? This painting depicts a playful attitude - at least...
