About Me

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights...James 1.17
Art is indeed a gift from God. I love to try anything and everything when making art. I love that a friend called me "fearless." I have painted in oil most of my life and have had fine training at Scottdale Artists School. Lately I have been learning how versatile acrylic paints are, as well as the many gels, mediums and specialty products that go with them. My work seems to get more expressive and free as the years go by. I enjoy experimenting with traditional methods and contemporary styles. It is a privilege to teach my beautiful art students; I continue to marvel at each individual's innate artistic sense. My goal is for each student to grow in confidence and character as well as in art-making skills. It is a thrill to watch the process and results. I paint florals, landscapes, figures, pets, and still life. My favorites are my children, the beach, bold and happy colors, and textures. My third grade teacher often had our class draw imaginary flowers - probably when she didn't know what else to do with us. I'm still doing them!
