Irma's Gift, Contemporary Still Life Paintings by Amy Whitehouse

8" x 8" Oil $200

Last September I experienced Hurricane Irma
up close and personally.
We were without power for a few days,
but fortunately had flashlights and water,
so we were fine.

After the hurricane, the beach was a treasure trove.
We found several large conch shells
unlike any I'd ever found.

Painting it was challenging and gratifying.
Something that was brought up from the deeps
had amazing color, shape, texture, and subtlety.
