Using a limited palette of French Ultramarine, Cad Yellow Light, B&W, I also incorporated collage, mono printing, scraping, and pencil markings. I love this palette.

Sunset after Turner

Oil on Canvas, 11" x 14" $300

I have lately been exploring different palettes by the Masters.

I chose four palettes and used one basic composition

in order to clearly see what a difference a palette can make.

This is the second one.

Turner used tints, tones, and grays; also he didn't have whites

in his finished pieces. That would have taken away 

the intensity of his focal point. At least I think that's the reason.

Sunset

Oil, 11" x 14" $300

I've been experimenting with palettes

from the Masters.

This particular palette would be considered

that of the Post-Impressionists,

because it was painted with pure hues,

and so not mixed with other colors.

This saturation is what gives the piece INTENSITY.

Life Moments

 

Oil and Ink, 10.25" x 14" $150

I love the grid composition! 

Now I've accumulated many of them,

and it's interesting to see how different

I can make each one from the previous ones.

I've learned that I love complimentary colors 

and a limited palette.

Also using a special tool to apply

black ink

is quite satisfying.

Mostly I love to play with art materials

and sometimes

I end up with a winner.
