Spring, Contemporary Floral Paintings by Amy Whitehouse

8" x 10", Oil, $150

Using live flowers and photographs as
jumping off places,
I'm painting intuitively
seeking gesture and voice
through line and color.
Some of the flowers are dream-like.

Wake Up, Contemporary Still Life Paintings by Amy Whitehouse

7" x 7" Oil $95

I wanted to do a simple painting
with a little sparkle to it.
I titled it "Wake Up" because
the cup of coffee has been finished,
and the colors are bright.

8"x8" Oil on Paper

Roses are blooming in my backyard
and their structure and colors have captured me.
When I was little I'd help my dad
tend to the roses and we'd try to
memorize the name of each one.

I think the hints of blue and the neutral background set this one off.

Mexico Muse, Contemporary Floral Paintings by Amy Whitehouse

24" x 30" Oil, $600

The colors of San Miguel de Allende captured me on my
recent trip there to attend a writers' conference.
The sumptuousness and richness
was alluring and peaceful at the same time.
I was inspired to use royal blue, magenta,
fucshia, gold, and greens on a large canvas.
