Summer Sorbet

This painting was created with a limited palette, 

namely Napthol Red, Turquoise Blue, Black & White.

I deeply enjoy mixing the saturated color straight 

from the tube with grays mixed from B&W.

Then I end up with more sophisticated colors

and some surprising colors such as the lavenders.

Abundant Joy

 

Oil, 11" x 14" $700

Using primarily reds and greens,

I wanted to create an image with

bold color, interesting shapes,

and breathing space in which to rest the eye.

I'm quite content with the outcome.

It was pure joy painting this one,

hence the title.

Beach Trip 2

 

Oil on Cradled Board, 16" x 16" $700

Using soothing colors and giving enough 

breathing space between the shapes,

I hope I achieved a sense of calm and serenity

for you, the viewer.

As is often the case, the colors and shapes

give me a feeling of being at the beach.

Is that a sand bucket?

Are those sand dollars?

Fronds from a palm?

A striped blanket?
